DMCA / Copyright Policy
Published and maintained by the CarportBay Editorial Team. Last updated .
CarportBay respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of this site to do the same. This policy explains how to report content on carportbay.com that you believe infringes your copyright. These rules sit alongside the site usage terms, which cover what may be copied or republished from this site.
Filing a Notice
If you believe content on carportbay.com infringes a copyright you own, send a written notice that includes:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- The specific URL on carportbay.com where that material appears.
- Your name, address, phone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Submitting a Notice
Send your notice, with all of the information above, through the contact form, choosing "Copyright / DMCA concern" as the topic. We review every notice we receive and respond as required by law.
Counter-Notice Procedure
If content you posted was removed in response to a notice and you believe it was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice identifying the material, stating under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake, and consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district. We will forward a valid counter-notice to the original complainant as required by law.
Our Response
We review every notice that includes all of the required information above and respond promptly. Depending on the notice, our response may include removing or disabling access to the material identified, notifying the party who posted it where applicable, or declining to act if the notice is incomplete or does not describe an infringement.
Repeat Infringer Policy
If CarportBay ever enables user-submitted content and a user is the subject of repeated, valid copyright notices, we will terminate that user's ability to submit further content, consistent with the repeat-infringer policy the DMCA safe harbor requires. Guest pieces published through Write for Us are reviewed before they publish and are not user-submitted posts.
Misrepresentation
Under federal law, anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that content is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages. Please be sure of your claim before submitting a notice or counter-notice.
