Accessibility Statement
Published and maintained by the CarportBay Editorial Team. Last updated .
Our Target Standard
CarportBay is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. This includes color contrast, keyboard operability, labeled form fields, a correct heading structure, and descriptive alt text on images.
Conformance Status
CarportBay is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2, Level AA. Partially conformant means some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard. We check color contrast, keyboard operability, form labeling, heading structure, and image alt text as each page ships, and continue improving conformance across the site over time.
Specific Measures We Take
- Text and interface colors are checked against a minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio (3:1 for large text and headings).
- Every content and calculator-output image carries descriptive alt text, not a blank or generic filename.
- No icon-only button, such as a share or reset control, ships without a visible label or an equivalent for assistive technology.
- Every form and calculator field has a label that is programmatically associated with it, not just placeholder text.
- Heading levels follow a consistent order and are never skipped purely for visual sizing.
- Every page declares its language so screen readers pronounce it correctly.
- Interactive controls, including the site's calculators, are operable by keyboard alone, show a visible focus indicator, and use touch targets of at least 24 by 24 pixels.
- Calculator error messages identify the specific field and how to fix it, rather than a generic error.
We build these measures into our page templates directly rather than relying on a third-party accessibility overlay widget, which research on digital accessibility lawsuits has found does not meaningfully reduce a site's exposure.
How We Test
Each page template is checked with an automated accessibility scan before it ships, and we periodically re-scan the site's highest-traffic pages. We also perform manual keyboard-only and screen-reader passes, since automated tools alone miss context-dependent issues that only a manual pass catches.
How to Report an Issue
If you run into an accessibility barrier anywhere on carportbay.com, please let us know through our Contact Us page. Please include the page URL and a description of the issue so we can look into it.
